It is day eleven and I've not yet run out of
things for which I am thankful to write about during
NaBloPoMo. For that fact alone,
I am thankful! I am a big believer in the power of flavors and scents to impact our mood. One of the most powerful flavors/scents for me is
vanilla.

Give me a choice of almost any flavor
anything and I will choose vanilla. Of course if it is fine quality, pure vanilla, all the better. I just adore its warmth and subtlety. Vanilla is an honest flavor...it is what it is, and it doesn't aspire to me more or different. Maybe vanilla can teach a lesson in being genuine...I will have to ponder that theory further...
Now for the scent. At the risk of being called "new age," I know that an aroma can affect my experience. A vanilla scented candle or potpourri can make me feel warm and relaxed almost immediately. All my favorite cool weather perfumes have vanilla in their formula. When I wear the scent of vanilla, I feel complete.
Flavors and tastes are among the most important ways in which we experience the world...I am glad that I have found one that connects my senses so profoundly to my life. Soothing, warm and relaxing to the nose, comforting and creamy to the mouth...no wonder
I am thankful for vanilla!
Can you believe today is the half-way point of NaBloPoMo? Time sure has flown as I've been writing every day of November about things for which I am thankful. Here on day fifteen, I am going to write about another little thing that makes a big difference

Sixteen days of NaBloPoMo so far...I am really developing a taste for writing about things for which I am thankful each day throughout the month of November. You may notice that this entry is titled almost identically to a post I wrote on November 11th
