As
Scott was leaving to
brave the elements - I mean, drive to his office - this morning, he remarked that the snowstorm we were having was, "Kind of pretty..." I agreed, so I snapped some pictures out our windows to share...
For those of you unfamiliar with the
particular beauty of Winter, this is our world...and welcome to it!

I don't have to commute through it, so I don't mind wintry weather. Those who do need to trudge through the snow, sleet, freezing temperatures and general
yuckyness of a Midwestern Winter on a regular basis are brave and hearty souls!
A perk of working from home is that I can enjoy the weather from the comfort of my cozy indoors. As long as I can do my weekly grocery shopping, I am set. In fact, our house is so well stocked that, in an emergency, we could get by for several weeks eating from the pantry and freezer, I'm quite sure. I am particularly fond of my salads, and it's nice to have other perishables such as milk and eggs on hand, but other than that, we wouldn't necessarily be inconvenienced by being a wee bit
snowbound.

Especially at this time of the year, it almost seems appropriate to look out and see everything in shades of gray. To my mind, a blanket of snow softens and muffles sights and sounds, and that makes for a peaceful setting. It seems to fit with my introverted mood that comes around at this time of the year.
You may recognize the setting in the photo to the right in slightly more colorful tones from a
previous post about my favorite season.
I suppose there is beauty in
every season if you set your mind to find it.
