The only real job I've ever had is child daycare provider... In fact, I've been practicing at this career for over twenty years now!
No, I don't believe I'm insane for choosing to do this for what is - so far - my life's work. Some days, however, I feel that the job itself may just cause insanity...at least of the temporary kind!
Sometimes the only way to combat the stress of dealing with children - other people's children whom you can't stuff in a closet - is to laugh...and laugh...and laugh some more...

I'm Gonna Go To Daycare Provider Hell For This!
Yesterday, Lis over at her blog Every Little Thing posted just the thing to alleviate this professional daycare provider's (or for that matter, a parent's) stress...
Childcare for Dummies is a series of "instructional" illustrations for taking care of children. All are very funny...ranging from amusingly inappropriate to hilariously horrendous!

I've captioned some, but others defy words...
My question here...Why would anyone purposely wake a sleeping baby?
Tempting...especially once they learn to climb out over the top of the playpen!
Hey...the pet carrier has air - and food and water too!
Isn't that how the stork carries the babies to the new parents?
So what's wrong with a little early mental stimulation?
Hey, I sat on the hump on the floor in the back seat and I survived!
The groceries will actually hold the baby down, preventing him from falling out of the cart, right?
They say children today are too sedentary, so what's the problem?
Baby gets a bath and the geraniums get watered...
This just seems like efficient multi-tasking!
Show me a child who hasn't done this, no matter how many sterilized, age-appropriate teething toys we place before them!
Not a good idea for baby, but after spending hours calming a fussy baby, a fine idea for the caregiver!
As long as it's educational programming...
It's important to teach children social skills...
What's wrong with teaching a child how to clean an aquarium and how to hold their breath under water?...
Another good example of multi-tasking...
Hopefully I resemble the "Yes" more than the "No..."
But by the end of a hectic week with the little ones...
You are lucky indeed if the child himself doesn't stick his hand into his own diaper...
How else will you know if the milk has spoiled?
I always say babies should be fed right from the table as early as possible...!
It's gonna get on you one way or the other...why not take the direct approach?
This has sure been a hoot and a half!
I certainly hope my clients aren't reading this...
