Today was my Grandma Bessie's birthday. I always hold a special thought for her on March 7th.She was an exceptional lady who was very influential in my life.
If I sent her a birthday card, it would say:
Grandma, you taught me about love by loving me unconditionally. Thank you for always being there for me.Although you're gone, you live on in the woman I am today. I can only aspire to mean as much to someone in my life as you mean to me.
I wish the people who are special now in my life could have met you, and you them.
I miss you.
I Love You!

Happy Birthday Grandma Bessie!!
There's nothing like the love of a grandma, is there?!
It's so nice that yours was able to be part of your adult life!
I'm sure you do your grandmother proud by the way you live your life!
Grandmas can sure be special!
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your grandma. Hopefully your memories of her will keep her with you in your heart.
This photo is a treasure...we were visiting my sister who was a nun at the time at her convent, so Grandma is wearing her "good dress!" In the uncropped photo you can see that the black mass behind Grandma is my sister (who looks rather like a Ninja) and my mom too. I barely remember Mom so young!
Grandma Bessie (Dad's mom) is the only Grandma I knew. Mom's mother passed away long before I was born. This is in stark contrast to Scott's family where he has known all 4 grandparents and in fact his mother's parents are still living. He even had a great-grandmother until he was 21 years old!
I guess that's the price I pay for coming late to the party!
