I'm Thankful For:
My Sweetie Scott, my best friend, partner in crime and quite simply the most wonderful man (who happens to be my husband) in the world.
Cats in general and ours in particular. They fill my life with joy, fun and warm companionship, along with a delightful dose of pain-in-the-ass!
My family; the one I was born into and the one I married into. Though they are different as can be, they show me the full gamut of love - in all its manifestations. Who doesn't kill you makes you stronger...isn't that what they say...?
Laughter because, when you can't beat 'em, laugh at 'em. Let's face it, it beats crying and it's no less effectual and much more fun!
Miscellaneous advantages with which I've been endowed including, being born an American, living in these "enlightened" times and intelligence. These provide me with opportunities to do things in my life should I recognize them and use them wisely.
Continued good health of my loved ones and myself. Really, what else really matters?
For a detailed list - numbering thirty, in fact - of things for which I am thankful, check out my
NaBloPoMo posts from last year.
So my Thanksgiving Resolution is to fully focus on these blessings, rather than on the things that are not (but I would like to be) present in this list. I will remember that no matter how it appears from the outside, no one has a perfect life and not even I can have it all.
At least I have a blog where I can freely share my feelings about thankfulness. That's not something I take lightly.
And I am grateful for the friendship and love you have given me. I am grateful for all my wonderful daughters and sons and being here to enjoy my kids and grandkids.
