"Nothing can be so amusingly arrogant as a young man who has just discovered an old idea and thinks it is his own." - Sidney J. Harris.
I love to learn about history, and the more I learn, the more I know that there are very few new ideas under the sun...just ones I haven't heard before. I have definitely noticed this happening as the years go by...especially in fashion. The younger girls think they are the first to look so cool, but I wore virtually the same thing in the '70s...!
Of course it happens in every area... music/arts, science, politics, philosophy/religion...but I automatically think clothes because I am shallow and vapid...

Not that I've ever really heard much Paganini. Apparently he was a pianist subjected to the equivalent of today's papparazzi during his peak.
Hmmm. Paganini Paparazzi. Sounds like a bad band. Or a pizza parlor.
(By the way, I've added yours and scott's journal feeds to my own, which is http://graycie23.livejournal.com. I like livejournal because it is easy, albeit not independent or grown up, but oh well. Anyway, just dropping in again =))
Love your live journal - it has been added to the roster in my trusty google reader.
If you ever decide you want a proper blog - you know how to contact me. My family discount can't be beat!! Ask Gina, I only charged her a couple hundred for this....
